Especial take a side-step, welcoming up and coming producer Wolf Müller to the label with his remixes of indie-pop dreamer Mariam The Believer. Two striking percussive, led reworks of her single Invisible Giving appear exclusively on vinyl.
Jan Shulte aka Wolf Müller is another name to come out of the incubating music scene of Dusseldorf, a place where it’s musical history is respected but does not dictate it’s future.
Joining the path taken by luminaries Unit 4, Thelonious Harmonious, Tolouse Low Trax and Musiccargo as well as the contemporary likes of Stabil Elite and BAR, Jan first appeared on of the Themes From Great Cities label to soon become a name to watch.
The debut Wolf Müller EP - Lagerfeuer Tanz - set the tone with super heavy percussive workouts that made it a very sought after (and expensive) find, however it was last years follow up - Balztanz - that took thinks up a notch, with a killer JTC remix to boot.
Now for Especial, Wolf takes on indie-pop siren Mariam The Believer with her Invisible Giving track from the debut album, Blood Donation on Moshi Moshi Records.
Coming with a twisted vocal and drums jam or for the deeper heads, a specially crafted dub to warp and wail the vocals in and out of faze. This is one for the more open minded mixmasters out there.
With more music due from Wolf in the coming year, as well as a return to his Bufiman project via an EP on Versatile, Jan is a producer on the rise and an increasingly busy international DJ.
And that is not even mentioning Montezumas Rache...coming soon!
